All our facilities operate from 7:45am–4:45pm, Monday through Friday, with the exception of statutory holidays.

Professional development days and annual closures to be updated yearly.

Our fee structure is as follows:

* These fees are after the CCFRI (Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative).

We do accept ACCB (Affordable Child Care Benefit), if you qualify.

All posted base rates reflect applied CCFRI (Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative) savings. Additional financial support through the Affordable Child Care Benefit (ACCB) is accepted for qualifying families.

While the exact timings vary slightly across our different programs, the flow of the day generally includes the following:

Other activities, such as circle/story time and art/craft activities, are integrated throughout the day, depending on the specific age group and educational program.

Our educator-to-child ratios strictly follow provincial licensing requirements:

👶 Infant & Toddler: 1 educator to 4 children
🧒 3 – 5 Years Old: 1 educator to 8 children

In addition to primary educators, we have dedicated float educators to support all programs.

We believe children have an innate sense of curiosity that uniquely equips them to grow into their fullest potential. Our environment and educators are there to serve as facilitators for this growth.

Our curriculum includes play-based learning where educators carefully observe the childrens' interests and offer opportunities through various activities that support their physical, intellectual, language, emotional, and social development.

We enforce regular sanitization protocols, emergency preparedness drills, and first-aid certification for all active staff members.

Our detailed health policies are found in the Parent Handbook. They are based on Health Authority and CDC's recommendation.

We welcome families into our programs in a gradual and progressive manner over the course of 1-2 weeks. Primary educators will work together with families through an individualized approach. Open communication is key to the successful process.

Face-to-face communication is done at pick-up and drop-off each day. In addition, families stay connected through our secure digitial portal, "Parent App," receiving real-time updates on daily activities, meal logging, nap times, photo updates, and direct messaging.

Withdrawal requires written notice submitted on or before the first calendar day of the month prior to your intended departure date. For further clarity, please refer to the Parent Handbook.

Each centre has drop-off/pick-up areas for families.

We partner closely with families during toilet training transitions, supporting your child's toilet readiness with gentle, positive reinforcement throughout the day.

Philosophy

At Maple Tree Children’s Centre, we believe children have a natural curiosity, and that it’s our job to give them opportunities to grow their innate sense of wonder and love for learning.

Curriculum

Our curriculum is based on the belief that children learn best through “play”, while experiencing the world around them.

Origin Story

I worked in the childcare field as an Early Childhood Educator with an Infant/Toddler Specialty for 10 years in a variety of roles. In 2010, as a single parent to three children, I opened my first centre on a tiny budget, for 16 children total. Now, many years later, my new husband and I have grown our family to seven children, while creating and running childcare for 170 families, in three separate locations in the greater Victoria area with a fourth facility coming soon.
